Windows 7 and fast track pro

Why doesn't cakewalk cater a little more to the beginner and break these issues down in regard to hardware. Excuse me, but I'm a little disheartened. I've had the cakewalk software going on almost three weeks and between buying a usb interface and then hearing here, on this forum who by the way has helped me out immensly that it was not a good choice and then purchasing an M-Audio interface and waiting for delivery of that, I havent made a not of music.

Except for some scratch tracks to test the software. Does Cakewalk just assume that everyone who buys their product is aware of all these exceptions to getting their software to work?

I thank you guys for all the advice. At this point I'm just waiting for my M-Audio to arrive and expect to spend plenty of time trying to get the software to work with the interface. I'm disgusted at this point and dissapointed. Who knows maybe I'll get lucky.

Maybe I should have spent three weeks on this forum before i bought anything. Funny, I got a gig this Friday and I'm almost ready to just have the sound guy record it and call it my next CD.

It comes with a version of Pro-Tools, but it probably isn't even compatible with that. There is a lot to learn, Paul, but I think the vast majority of folks get their systems set up and running with minimal difficulties.

They just don't go on the forums and extol the virtues of their gear. The malcontents are much more likely to vent, like that Maxx guy. He apparently doesn't like M-Audio. He even posted his blather about M-Audio not being able to use ASIO drivers right below a post from another user who does have them working.

Chance are that you won't have any problems fingers crossed. I think you're getting too worried about it yet based on one person's agenda against m-audio. In the immortal words of Douglas Adams: "Don't Panic!

Man, I feel allot better now. My faith has been restored!! Bought them both at the same time. My recordings are not nearly as complex as ChuckC has going, but so far all is well. Thinking ChuckC will be your Mentor in your setup, but I will sure monitor the topic for you. You will probably have the same questions I had.
