You can use the generatemissing modifier to inform the import utility that the input data file contains no data for the generated columns not even NULLs , and the import utility will therefore generate a value for each row.
This behavior also applies to identitymissing modifier. If you are exporting LOB data in separate files as described in Section  Consider the following import command. This command takes mgrresume. With the lobsinfile modifier, the utility searches the paths specified in the lobs from clause for the LOB location specifier LLS.
Notice that an additional clause, long in lobts , is added to the create into option. It indicates that all LOB data will be created and stored in lobts table space. If this clause is omitted, LOB data will be stored in the same table space with the other data. Typically, we recommend that you use DMS table space and keep regular data, LOB data, and indexes in different table spaces.

Yeah, i try very hard to avoid using load on a transactional database. In the case of my warehouse, it is non-transactional - and the load files are the backups: if a recovery is required we move the compressed files from archive to input, and the loader takes care of it.

Obviously you've been around the block a few times, but from a concurrency perspective, you do realize that IMPORT by default takes an exclusive lock on the table it is writing to, right? In other words, if for example the 3rd field of the table is defined as numerical 5 along which 2 decimals, the content of the 3rd field in all lines of the CSV file must be either null or contain a valid number with at most 3 integers and 2 decimals and must there is the decimal separator character or comma or dot.
For every error that the DB2 finds trying to import the contents of the various fields of the CSV file, a message is recorded in the job joblog and the line affected by the error is discarded.
In the message present in the joblog it is in most cases specified exactly on which field the problem was found. It is a possibility perhaps little known, but very convenient to identify more easily the lines that are rejected by the import. Very useful especially when the csv file contains hundreds or thousands of lines. If you have doubts about the end-of-line character of a csv file, you can open and check the last characters of the line by displaying them in hexadecimal mode.
Move the view to the right until the end of the line is shown: type in the column placement the last column of the text file.
